News is coming in furiously this month! The Silencer Audiobook, read by actor & award winning narrator Brian Hutchison, is now available! Brian did an unbelievable job with it and I couldn't be happier that he is the voice of Mike Recker. It is currently selling for $19.95 on Audible. I have been given a few promo codes to give to reviewers for a free copy, obviously in exchange for a review, so if you're interested in this, email me quickly before I run out of codes.
If you're not familiar with Brian's work, he has narrated books for Recorded Books, as well as NY Times bestsellers such as Jodi Picoult, Scott McEwen/Thomas Koloniar, Jonathan Maberry. Besides that, he's acted in plays on an off Broadway, as well as guest starred on Person of Interest, Elementary, The Good Wife, among others.
So I've already previously announced a narrator was found, contracts signed, for The Silencer. The person who is narrating the book is Brian Hutchison. He has done NYT Bestsellers such as Jodi Picoult, Scott McEwen, Jonathan Maberry, Mickey Spillane, as well as countless others. In the past few years, Brian has received an Earphones Award for Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult, a Voice Arts Award in 2015 for Leaving the Sea by Ben Marcus, and three Audie nominations for Snowbound by Richard S. Wheeler, Clockwork Lives by Kevin J. Anderson and Neil Peart, and How It Went Down by Kekla Magoon. He's also appeared in Person of Interest, Elementary, Bridge Of Spies, among others. He's currently co-starring in an off-Broadway play called How To Transcend A Happy Marriage with Marisa Tomei. Before that, he starred in the off-Broadway play, Smokefall, with Zachary Quinto.
I have to say that I'm beyond thrilled to be working with someone of Brian's talents. When I first started auditioning for the book, I didn't think it was even possible to get someone with his resume. But his resume wasn't why he was chosen. He had a great audition and seemed like the perfect choice for the job. Beyond that, the few times I've talked to him, seems like a really good guy. I'm really excited to hear the finished product. I'll keep everyone updated.
At long last, the paperback process is underway!!! The Silencer will be the first to go into paperback to coincide with the upcoming audiobook. It's currently being formatted and the cover is also being worked on. It'll have to be proofed once everything's together, but I would imagine that it should be available by the end of May.
I've previously gotten a few questions about autographed copies when they were eventually available, and my initial thoughts are that I'll probably do two things. One, you'll be able to buy a copy on my website and I'll personally autograph it and send it to you. The price will be a little higher to account for shipping costs. The other is that I'll have book plates made that I'll personally sign (no copies) and send to someone if they request it. No payment necessary for that option as it'll only cost me a stamp.
Just in case you haven't been following along, Hard Target was released on Saturday. The books page has been updated with Hard Target's description, as well as clickable links to the retailers it can be purchased from. The newsletter also went out today with all that information, so you should be swamped with Hard Target news! So far we've gotten off to a great start and sales were strong over the opening weekend. I would just like to say thank you to my readers, thank you to the people who email and say they enjoy the books...I really appreciate it!
Last week I made reference to Hard Target (Silencer #3) being released next Saturday. I can now say that Saturday, April 1 is definitely the release date. Everything's set and ready to go. I hope everyone enjoys the latest entry in the Mike Recker series.
Incidentally, Blowback (Silencer #4) is just about to head to editor and is on target for the June release date.
Thank you to everyone who reads and enjoys the books. I couldn't do this without you.
